Delete account and data
How to delete your GrowOS account and all associated data — in the app or by email, no app installation required.
Last updated 2 September 2026
This page explains how to delete your GrowOS account and the data that belongs to it. It is reachable without installing the app and requires no sign-in.
Option 1: In the app
Settings → Delete account. There you first confirm that it is really you: accounts with a password enter their password, accounts using Google sign-in confirm once via Google. You then type the word DELETE and confirm the final prompt. Deletion happens immediately and you are signed out automatically.
Option 2: By email
Write from the email address of your GrowOS account to support@growos.eu with the subject “Account deletion”.
We delete the account within 30 days of receiving the request. If the request comes from an address other than the one on the account, we will check back first to make sure the deletion really comes from the account holder.
What gets deleted
- Your account including email address, name, time zone and language setting
- All plants including names, species, locations, moisture ranges and watering intervals
- All sensor readings and the entire watering history
- All photos, including the originals held in object storage and the image variants derived from them
- All alerts and notification settings
- Push tokens of your devices
- Connected sensor devices and their access tokens
- Active sessions (you will be signed out on all devices)
- Outstanding password reset codes and every email send job addressed to you
What is retained for a while
- Server access logs from regular operation, containing truncated IP addresses (see 3.6 of the privacy policy). Retention: 7 days
- Backups. Deletions take effect immediately in the live system; backup copies are deleted permanently when their retention period of no more than 35 days expires.
- Records subject to statutory retention, if any arise. GrowOS has no payments and no in-app purchases, so normally nothing falls under this.
- An anonymous remnant record for technical reasons: the account row itself stays in the database but is fully blanked. Email address, name and the Google account link are removed, so no person can be derived from it any more. Your email address becomes available for a new sign-up immediately.
No way back
Deletion is final. There is no restore and no grace period during which the account could be reactivated. If you want to keep your photos, save them to your device beforehand.
